Welcome to the blog of "Exchange in Guimaraes".
First of all. I created this blog, the list and the spreadsheet alone and my
English is far from be perfect. So please, feel free to make suggestions,
request and corrections.
Now I'll try to describe all the elements of "Exchange in Guimaraes" and the
way to use them.
=========== The spreadsheet.
[Copied from Google] Google Spreadsheets is a web-based spreadsheet product
from Google that makes it easier for people to create and share spreadsheets
on the web. It enables people to create simple web-based spreadsheets that
others can simultaneously update from their own computers. It's a free,
secure service that will save people the hassle of manually consolidating
spreadsheets from others - a tedious and mind-numbing task.

their data (name, phone, mail, room, ...), so others can see the info about
all of us together.
Also is good because you can save it on your computer on many different
formats and play with it.
Play? Yes, play. Here some examples:
- You want to know all the people on your floor on the residence.=> Take the
column of room number and sort it. You will see all the room numbers in
order.
- You want to know all the people from your country. => Take the column 'From'
and sort it with the program. If you don't know how to sort a column on a
spreadsheet, just ask somebody.
- You want to know the people who will have a birthday soon. => Take the
column 'Birthday' and sort it.
As you can see, the possibilities are many.
Only the people invited have access to see and edit it, so don't worry. It
won't bee accessible by internet.
======== The mail list.
Just like any other mail list, but with the advantages of be from Google.
You won't need to open a hotmail or yahoo account to enter on it, just sign in with your mail and a password (not necessarily the same that for your mail) and then request or accept and invitation.
You will receive all the mails that others send to it, and vice-versa.
The list pretends to keep all the people in contact and be a fast way to share
info, offer plans (cinema, sports, parties, etc.) and many other things. You will
see!!

========= The blog.
The blog is intended to be a place to collect usefull semi-static information.
The members can edit new post and anybody can add comments to the existing ones. Some examples could be: cheap places to buy food, opening times, tips and tricks, connexion to the e-UM wireless network, etc.
